I long to sit and laugh and talk with my mum over a cup of tea. My dad too. They are gone for a long time, miss them every day and tell friends to hold on to every moment with their parents while they can.

My bestie has lost her mom when she was 7. She still listens and validates my feelings about my mom's narcissistic abuse. You can mourn your own mom and still not be nasty when others don't have great moms... I love my mom so much, don't get me wrong. But that just makes it hurt worse when she treats me poorly... Because I long for a mother daughter relationship I'll never have.

I've heard my friends talking about their mom complaining about this and that. which i understand their pov cuz i also dislike it when she was still around. but at the same time, how i wish to hear her complain to me one more time. how i wish her to be angry at me one more time. also i do understand others if their parents are toxic, if they really are toxic to you, i think it's fine for you to distance yourself. but to me, although there were actions of them that i dislike or were bad to me, but now that she's gone, all of that dont matter anymore. cuz at the end of day, I've lost my mom and that's the worst thing that could have happened to me. and it did. of course this is only my pov

I think it depends on what it is. My mum and I didn’t have the perfect relationship but I miss her so much, so if someone complains about their mum wanting lunch or a phone call. I don’t want to hear it because I would give anything for one more meal together, one more phone call but if their mum treats them horribly - you can talk to me about it because I know what it’s like to have a difficult relationship but love them with your entire being. If it’s something little that you’ll get over, do it and cherish the little moments. If it’s something that will take time, it’s also ok. You know you love them and no one can take that away from you
