The tragedy of Count Dooku is that he was and would've continued to be one of the greatest Jedi, but no one in the council or Senate would listen to him. He only joined the separatists and fell to the dark side because nobody would listen to him about the corruption and what needed to be fixed. As he says himself "I serve the PEOPLE of this Republic", but corruption had other plans for his destiny
