Eaton Autoshift? Probably the XY shifter or corroded ground wire. I’ve had the same problem.

I took a truck to a guy to pick up my hopper bottom and it wouldn’t go in reverse. I got out and asked the guy for an offer and took it.

We had a truck with auto tranny issues, ground wire to the starter was lose. Multiple shops later tighten the ground and shifts fine now.

Automatic Eaton Fuller sucks. We had an automatic and it wouldn't come out of 10th. I had to clutch it, pull over, kill it, and try again. Put a stick in it

Check grounds. A large percentage of intermittent failures are bad/corroded grounds.
