@burbertfamilyfarms: POV: You’re watching your chickens casually peck at the ground… while knowing they’re out here working overtime to find the bugs you DON’T want crawling on you. 😂🐔 There is something so peaceful about watching chickens scratch, peck, and forage around the property. And yes—chickens LOVE bugs. 🐛 They naturally forage for insects, spiders, larvae, grasshoppers, and other little creepy crawlies. They’ll also scratch through leaves and soil looking for their next snack. Do they eliminate every tick? Nope. But having a flock actively foraging around areas we use can mean fewer bugs getting the chance to bother us—and honestly, I’ll take all the free pest control I can get. 😂 Meanwhile, they’re getting: 🌱 Natural foraging 🐛 Extra protein from insects ☀️ Exercise & enrichment 🐔 And a job to do all day This is the kind of “farm chore” I can get behind.
