Front beach road was 10x nicer back then. Beautiful views of the beach without all those 30 story monstrositys.

I remember cutting class and driving down to the beach for the day(live in south Alabama). Before all of the overdevelopment, we could get to the beach in an hour. Now it takes two full hours just to get to front beach road.

I stayed at peeks with my granny and pop in 1978! Fun land was right across the street. Some of my most fav memories!

I tell my children about growing up in Florida in the 70s and how you can see the beach from a pretty good ways away, but not anymore because all the buildings are side-by-side and very tall

Back when the working poor actually had beaches to go to. Now, there's nothing available for us poor working people to go and enjoy. Heck, these days, I prefer the peace and quiet of our hidden springs along the creeks and rivers. Life long Floridian, here! 61 years and counting.

Fontainebleau Terrace still there. What I always point about the “ocean is risen” crowd. That think has always been pressed up to the ocean. Walked by it many of times.. same distance since the late 60’s.
