Mercedes OM626 Is Actually Renault R9M? Timing Chain Replacement. • Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 1.6 Diesel - timing chain replacement on the OM626 / Renault R9M engine. In this video, we work on a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 equipped with the 1.6-liter diesel engine known as the OM626. • Despite the Mercedes-Benz engine designation, the OM626 is essentially the well-known Renault R9M 1.6 dCi engine. This is important when looking for technical information, special tools and replacement parts. • In this video, we focus specifically on the timing chain replacement. The engine has already been removed from the vehicle, but the engine removal was not necessary specifically for the timing chain replacement. • The engine was removed for another repair - gaining access to the engine oil pump and oil pump drive chain. That particular job is extremely difficult or impossible to perform properly with the engine installed. The oil pump chain replacement is not covered in this video; here we concentrate entirely on the timing chain drive. • I show the complete process of replacing the Mercedes OM626 / Renault R9M timing chain, including preparation, locking the engine, removing the old timing components, installing the new chain kit and correctly assembling the timing drive. • Correctly locking the crankshaft and camshaft is extremely important during this procedure. We transformed an old porta cabin into a whimsical office hut, and it’s been such a rewarding project. The cabin was clad and had a tiled added. Then We painted it black, which really tarted it up a bit and makes it stand out beautifully in the garden. Adding salvaged windows and an old door made it feel more cottage like. We surrounded it with English cottage garden plants, creating a vibrant and lush setting. Recently we added bay trees and hosted an Alice in Wonderland style shoot with this as the backdrop which was SO much fun to create. It’s amazing to see how we could spruce up this tiny space without spending a fortune. With a bit of creativity and some thoughtful choices, we’ve turned a simple structure into a rustic and fun focal point that adds so much personality to our garden.
