@khilafah.vision: We don't have a resource problem. We have a system problem. It's a colonial system and mindset governing people who care more about maintaining their own power than serving mankind. Islam has a fundamentally different view of essential natural resources. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Muslims are partners in three: water, pasture and fire.” — Abu Dawud 3477 This isn't limited to literally three things. The hadith establishes the principle of public ownership: resources that are abundant and essential to people's collective needs cannot simply be monopolised by individuals or corporations. This includes resources such as oil, gas, minerals, forests, rivers and seas according to the Islamic understanding of public property. Under the Khilafah, such resources are managed by the State on behalf of the Ummah. Their ownership cannot be transferred into private hands through privatisation, while their revenues are used to serve the people's interests. So the question isn't merely, “Do we have enough?” The question is: “Who owns it? Who controls it? And who benefits from it?” A society can possess enormous natural wealth and still remain poor when its resources are controlled for the benefit of a few. The Islamic solution is not another patch to the capitalist system. It is the implementation of Islam's economic system through the Khilafah, where public resources are treated as a trust for the Ummah rather than a source of private enrichment. _ #colonialism #naturalresources #privatization #politics #meme
