I understand everything about this, or thought I did. My jurisdiction just adopted the code where we need the disconnect outside. But the inspector didn’t want it bonded out at that single 200a breaker under the meter, he said to bond it inside at the main panel like we used to without that disconnect. What’s the reasoning there? I figured I’d be bonding it at the outside breaker.

every jurisdiction I've worked in requires a bind jump between neutral and ground and you cant use the pa el housing as a means of bonding. the green screw only serves to bond the metal housing, just in case people decide to land neutrals and grounds on same bar (at first point of diconnect) and not on a bar connected to the metal housing

A real honest question, and I think the answer is time and money for the now, why no put only neutrals on the neutral bar and only grounds on the ground bar and electrically connect them by means of however they are manufactured to be connected in the service panel? The idea for that being that you can manually remove those connections in the future and the service panel would then be a sub panel with no changing the wiring and also my ocd (ik it’s not really ocd) of having all the neutrals in one place and the grounds in another looks more clean 🧼.

so I put a second sub panel off rhe first one at 200' second Sub panel is non bonding and with two earth grounds no more then 6' apart and it passed

so a good way to test to make sure your neutrals and grounds are not bonded before the first disconnect is by making sure there is not equal current on the neutrals and grounds in your sub panels?

First That’s a great video. I appreciate it. Secondly, have you ever used or seen used a line tap in between the meter and your main panel. One of my friends was telling me about that for his solar system and I wondered how safe that is.
