@earthlinghouse: I Found an Accidental Food Forest in Sparta 🌳 As I travel, I'm paying close attention to the patterns in the landscapes around me. Here in Sparta, beside the ruins of an old fort, I found what looks remarkably like an unofficial food forest. Figs, walnuts, olives, pomegranates, mulberries, grapes, oregano, thyme and more - edible plants growing everywhere. In places where humans have lived for centuries, it's fascinating to imagine generations of people planting, tending and encouraging useful species, leaving their mark on the landscape long after they're gone. Sometimes a food forest isn't something we create. It's something we discover. #FoodForest #Sparta #permaculturegarden #EdibleLandscape #Earthling
