I had a similar realization from the other side. When I’d help people learn new things, sometimes when I was overly eager to help with a skill or subject, I’d have people get a bit defensive or standoffish. shrugged it off and moved on. Wasn’t until later when one of those people and I became close friends and I asked and he explained he’d never been given information so freely unless it was malicious or a lie. He was suspicious of me. Really messed with me but brought a lot of things to clarity

So felt. My brother is only (almost) 3 years younger than me. He was going to school and also working to pay for said school when I would come visit. Which meant time was scarce with him when I came to visit. He was a hard worker and wouldn’t take time off. SO. I used to pay his day salary to take a day off with me. He hated it. 😂 But also, it was nice to have a full day of my baby brother without worrying about work or how he was going to pay his bills. I’ll forever be grateful for being able to do that. Worth double.

Fuck, dude, I had so much trouble with homework as well. When people who didn't have any experience with ADHD would try and explain something, half the time they'd just repeat one piece of advice like saying it enough times would make it click. Thankfully I had some good teachers and aids who knew who to approach from multiple angles to get things through my thick skull.
good job on the laundry btw
