The quick Vic is faster for field work. Also a noteworthy point is always use duck butter (pipe joint lubricant) when installing these type of couplings so the casing doesn’t pinch the gasket as you’re tightening that clamp.

Slip couplings are more expensive but slowly becoming the new standard. They are SUUUUPPPPEEERRR fast in the field for install.

I appreciate this video as a fire protection hybrid alarm/ sprinkler. Before the pipe fitters drop their colon on my statement, Can someone educate me on the difference between groove couplings and slip couplings??? Are slip couplings approved for fire??? Are they better, of course, in your opinion. please message more info

The gasket is called something. I had to replace them once and their called something specific. I can’t remember. Good video.

We put in multiple systems in 1 warehouse where all the bolts for those couplings were defective and when we were testing our system the bolts started blowing apart all over the place! So basically the head of the bolts just couldn't handle the pressure and snapped off!
