@blackrock_farm: The Hills⬇️ . . 1️⃣ONE Diversity. Doing things differently has been the absolute game changer for myself and our farm! Compared to other farmers, we are weird. Not everyone is doing what we do, nor do they want to. Don’t be afraid of leading the way! 2️⃣Bigger isn’t always better. I am full time on our farm on just 56 acres with a whole 14 cows. We’re not farming on a large scale but rather are very intentional in everything we do! Sure- I’m always team more cows, but also growing slowing is working really well for us when we think about long term stability! 3️⃣Learning > Everything There is always someone that is ahead of you, knows more than you and will honestly be a big piece in helping you grow. Be willing to learn and always be ready to pivot and change! Being a first generation farmer is weird and exciting and comes with a lot of beginner mistakes and trial and error.
