Nursing Homes aren’t the enemy. Some are trash, absolutely. But generally, we are trying. I literally got yelled at today by a patient because I don’t work 24 hours a day. Again, some places are shit, but most places, We’re doing our best, with some of the most challenging populations we’ve seen, while corporate (where your anger should be directed to) make us do more and more with less and less.

Ill believe it when I see it. Our facility just cut another nurse off the day shift and increased our resident numbers. Yet there is still 2 new unit managers and a new ADON still on payroll. Been in LTC my whole career its been profit over care for a very long time. Because LPNs arent billable like RNs yet we are the backbone of LTC facilities will cut us like a bad habit before they get rid of a manager. With 64 residents why do we need so much management?!

The moral injury from working in these facilities is horrible. I feel like I have to compromise the care I want to give every single day because of lack of resources and staff.

I just got my ass chewed bc I had overtime in my housekeeping and laundry department but if I didnt schedule those hours laundry wouldn't be getting done and the rooms wouldn't be cleaned. it's sad that our company wants all of us to struggle instead of paying us what we are worth and then some. But they just keep buying more homes and shorten the good homes

I really feel like state could care less about what goes on. They are friends with the Don and hr. I’ve worked in some awful places and state just turns a blind eye

I’m not a cna or nurse but I watch them daily struggle. Our voices to help them don’t matter because corporate is greedy and it’s always about making more money while the nurses and cnas providing the care and struggling daily to keep up with so many residents don’t make nearly enough as they should be. They work long shifts and them including myself they make us work an extra half hour for our “paid lunch” but don’t actually get the pay. Justice for our healthcare workers!

They are now counting NURSES AS CNAS AS WELL AT MY JOB! working with 1/2 the CNA staff and was told we-nurses- are counted in CNA hours!?!? How is that?? Then I must count for dietary, maintinence, social working, management and PT/OT also !!!!

This could be an easy fix if state just popped in at any given time unannounced! instead they give a heads up. Nursing facilities cut staff and raise admits on purpose. Why are we still dealing with this?? It's frustrating and making hate a job that I truly love :(

State does NOT care about the staffing issues OR lack of supplies. I can absolutely confirm this. State just left our facility due to a self reportable incident, State surveyor asks the staff "how are things", we tell the truth and then they leave but NOTHING changes.

I just had an agency shift threaten to report me for abandonment after refusing a shift when I arrived and literally everything was unsafe, they had a deceased resident who had clearly been there awhile and missing narcotics. I said go ahead, I’m leaving 😁

As I sit waiting for the Ombudsman. The nursing home almost killed my mom not abiding by the doctors wishes for a UTI test. On day 13 of no sample I threw a fit. Turns out she was so severe and they didn’t care at all.

I worked in the same building for 8 years. on 2 Separate accounts I called state and made an anonymous complaint. Both times they came busting in for a full investigation. one resulted in an IJ tag and that really cleaned things up in my facility and changed for the better.

I work evening shift, two aids, one nurse, no med tech during the week days. We are considered “meeting numbers” because of the nurse even though the nurse is passing meds and doing her job🙃
