A kitten might be easier to get along with your dogs! Kittens are usually fearless and easily adaptable. An adult cat may have issues with the dogs. We got our cat as a kitten and our dog was around 2 at the time. They are legit best friends and love each other so much! That could be circumstantial tho! Do what you feel is best!!!

Our 17 year old cat passed away in January of 2025. Our oldest (4 at the time) was sad but he was never her cat. He was mine, my wasted 21 year old self that picked out a shelter cat when I was post surgery depressed. We adopted a barn kitten in July of 2025 and he is my daughter’s cat. It took some time to understand boundaries and claws but they are best friends now. He’s sitting on the tub while my youngest (2) plays splash peek a boo with him

My black cat is the most chill cat, he lets me pick him up whenever, runs to the door for pets like a dog and loves attention. They are the least adopted but I highly recommend!!

Nonah seemed very in the black and white kitty on the wheel! Of all the cats I’ve had over the years, they’ve all been wonderful with my kiddos, but our black tuxedo was probably the absolute best!

I would pick a kitten bc they’re easily adaptable, and since you have a toddler, they will be less scared to play with her. An older cat might be a little stressed at first until they get used to her. I have two older cats, and it was a little rough at first when my son was born.
