For equities can be true, I am a bond broker and 90% of bond trading (excl superliquid treasuries or similar) are still done through chats or traders manually entering prices upon request. Bit misleading imo. Ofc algos exist but they are usually not the strongest bids/offers. Jane street is different tho, they are algo and they are strong

Say execution, idea generation cannot be automated.. algorithms for fills over time or just volume, execution algorithms. Planning the trade will always remain discretionary.
