Wow! Performing for this years #BETAwards, and the #Usher Lifetime Achievement Tribute was amazing!  Not only were we tasked with learning the #BGV parts to all of the songs in the tribute, we also had to tailor our sound to the sound of each specific artist while maintaining the integrity of Usher's original backgrounds. 1st we learned & rehearsed Usher’s original background vocals for “Good Kisser”. Then we received #ChloeBailey's reference for her arrangement of the song and it was really fun choosing which parts we felt were more dominant to sing, who would sing which part, as well as leaning into the feel & emotion she sang the parts with. She's such an intricate arranger like we are, & her BGV arrangements include 3 part conventional harmonies, cluster #harmonies, & even triple octaves. It was fun getting the opportunity to dissect her ideas and pull out what we felt would be best for the live performance with our mentee @chinaa !!!
