@sophiahastings4444: Her father disappeared before she was born. Seven years later, he returned with a terminal diagnosis—and Grandma secretly arranged a meeting after Mom said no. Did she show compassion or cross an unforgivable boundary? 👀⚖️ #BeefCourt #FamilyDrama #ParentingDrama #GrandparentBoundaries #TikTokJury
Nope. You can never see the kid again. Grandparents rights aren’t actually a thing mom was being so cool for allowing that ( I also think

I can understand the meeting, but she never should have introduced him as "dad". he is no father.

Who's paying for the kid's therapy when her dad dies? Grandma would NEVER see my kid again.

Mom is correct. Dad already made his choice. if he wanted to be involved, he should have already been involved. The child's best interest at this point are the only thing that matter, which means never meeting. dad

Grandma complete overstepped and crushed the boundaries Mom put in place. It was not her decision to make. Grandma would be kept at arms length and certainly never have unsupervised time with her grandchild.

Both things are true. Mom has every right to be mad and restrict visits. If I was Grandma I may have done it too. Grandma shouldn’t have called him Dad though. If I was the daughter I’d thank grandma someday.

I can give the best opinion on this because I never got to meet my dad didn’t even know who he was until week after his death when I was 12. While it’s a hard decision even if my dad was drug addicted I had major trauma with the what ifs and not knowing. Still to this day I’m 38 and it affects me. Team grandma but I do understand mom’s point too.

oof. first if all, I agree with mom. bonding with a father and immediately losing him could be traumatic. also, if the father was looking for absolution, it wasn't the child's responsibility to give him that. he made his bed.
yet at the same time... while i firmly believe granny blew it big time... I wonder if the child would look back later, knew she had a chance to meet her dad, realize she was prevented, and be resentful. either way, a crappy situation.

Mom was right. Grandma had no business stepping in like that. Dad made a choice and only wanted to meet because he knew it was too late. Regardless respect the parent that is raising the child.

think the girl should have been asked in this one due to both ways she will be hurt but should have at least been given a choice in this one

both scenarios are giving the child trauma. Seeing the father or not. One day she will grow up and know she could have met him and didn’t. Children don’t care about adult issues

Mom's right and like the other guy said Grandma should be paying for the child's therapy when the dad dies and a dad who abandons his child deserves not to see them

regardless of how you personally feel, if its not your child you have zero right to make that decision. dosnt matter if moms choice was right or wrong it was her choice to make and not grandma's. Massive over step. I have 3 adult children and 3 teens. once they are living independently, your now advice and back up only. its their choice to make decisions and live how they chose to. you can guide but you have to respect their choices.

Well the grandmother is wrong for doing it behind her back but I believe the mother is wrong the little girl would always wonder about her dad and would resent the mother growing up finding out that she would have had an opportunity to meet the father she never met
