@__trahmxo: POV: You’re people of colour taking photos in a public park, and suddenly your completely ordinary behaviour is treated as suspicious. Racism is being made to feel like you don’t belong in places you have every right to enjoy. 🌳📸 We travelled to Hereford today to collect a new car my husband has finally purchased after working long hours day & night saving for it. It was a 3hr journey there and back from & to London so we found a nice park and stopped off to have a walk and stretch our legs. I love taking pictures of nature which is what I started doing. This woman, her name is Jackie, then stopped and stared at us so my initial instinct was to ask is she okay? And then all this occurred. Her husband Pete came to her rescue and eventually realised his wife Jackie was doing too much. Police were also called, we waited, they didn’t come. We never thought we would experience something like this because we’ve only see this stuff online yet now we realise this is actually the reality for so many people of colour: being watched, questioned and judged for doing things that would be completely ordinary if we were someone else. #fyp #racism #wtf
