I feel rose did actually love pearl during a time. When they saw garnet and they fused it shows. But rose knew that pearl would never stop being a “pearl” if she was with her and her obsession would just get worse. She knew the best part of pearl is who she is when she is independent and she loved her enough to force that independence onto her by not being with her. Honestly might be one of the reasons she had Steven and vanished.

Does anyone else feel like saying her "obsession" is only because she was made to love Pink feel kinda shallow to anyone else.
