Fun fact: insurance WILL cover a pap every year!! Even if your dr says you can go every 3 years, you can still ask for one every year!!

I had a LEEP (following a + HPV) in 2016. Since, every pap has come back abnormal, with negative HPV. I’ve had 2 culpos since then, which have come back negative and have just been told to wait a year. That due to the negative HPV findings the “algorithm” sees it as low risk and recommends waiting. But no one can explain to me why they ALL come back abnormal. Extremely frustrating

I had a normal pap but positive for HPV16 - had a the colposcopy- 3 samples taken all benign (thank the Lord 🙏🏼) and she said wait a year and we will check again- both negative this year but the stress and amount of green tea and supplements I took was crazy! Had to do all the research on my own though! On all of it

You’re gyn is automatically supposed to tell you to take prenatals or multivitamins until your next appt the following year. So you do NEED to blame your doctor

I am infuriated. Birth control for years because I was told it was the only way to help with my PCOS. Never told me it increased my risk of a stroke because of my migraines. YEARS of “waiting” after multiple abnormal paps. Now I’m 31 worrying about how much of my cervix the doctor needs to remove because I want to have kids, but I also want these precancer cells removed because yes just waiting made it WORSE. Thank you for this.

I’m sorry this happened to you. When I was younger they told me it was abnormal, went back abnormal again, I was like what does that even mean, they told me I had hvp and just had to monitor yearly until it went away on its own. 🥺

They told me to wait, that my body would fight it blah blah blah for 3 years they kept telling me this until they did the biopsy and it was positive. Then they put a camera and did a deeper biopsy and scraped and it was positive! They just cut half of my cervix in out in July, and they still told me to wait 6 months to be checked again! TMI but my boyfriend would tell me “you’re so wet all the time!” Trying to be funny kinky but what you just told me, if I would have known this information, I would not have waited 3 years! 😭🥺 if this doesn’t clear on its own, I’ll most probably get a hysterectomy. I’m going to begin taking a prenatal or just eat more veggies 🥗 thank you for this! 🙏 😴

I’m so sorry. I get very frustrated with the lack of communication with patients and lack of education. Also I am not a fan of the protocol of having a pap every 3 yrs. That is way too long. Cell progression happens quickly.

I had an abnormal pap but negative for the HPV.. should I be concerned? I will say when I found a lump on my breast I 1000% had to advocate for myself to get all the scans and biopsy and DNA testing.

Had an abnormal pap 2 years in a row. Got a coloscopy and then thankfully got a normal pap 2 years in a row after that. Now they want me to wait 3 years. Should I wait?

pap was “atypical” last year. Said to wait a year and see. Jumped all the way to HSIL. Had to get a colpo and biopsy. They said it was negative and I could wait for my pap next year. UMM NO THANK YOU. I advocated for myself and got a repeat pap and extra HPV panel run. I do have one of the high risk HPV’s but not 14,16 or 45 thankfully. Waiting to hear from my doc to call me back now :/

I stopped breastfeeding after three and a half years and I gained weight that entire time. They said I was overweight and malnourished which I didn’t know could be a thing but anyways I stopped breastfeeding a year and a half ago and I feel like I’m chasing health. I had a normal period that whole time breastfeeding and then when I stopped I started bleeding longer and heavier and about 4 months ago they put me on the pill so I would stop bleeding cause I was bleeding over a month. But now 2 of these months I’ve had an infection which they keep giving me antibiotics until I refused the last one and wanted more tests cause all my cultures come back clear for uti but blood says infection somewhere I’m losing it. When they first put me on birth control I did the rest of the checkup and they did say it came back abnormal pap smear and we would check next year so now I’m wondering if this is what is driving everything?!? So should I get a prenatal? I already take blood builder cause my ferritin was at a 16 but my iron is normal. Apparently, my vitamin D was at a 20 so I’ve been taking vitamin D & K2, I started taking a probiotic for urinary health and cranberry. This is the info us women need. We need the info to help our bodies cause not all doctors care about us.

Oh wow!! I’m sorry they just had you wait. Mine made me do the procedure immediately. Then had me come in every 6mo for a Pap smear for 2 years, which it eventually cleared up but she kept a close eye on it.

My first one they told me to wait but they also sent me in for a colonoscopy and that can back good so there for confirmed to wait a year. The next few years my paps came back negative!

When I got my first Pap smear at 21 it came back abnormal and they said wait and see for the 2 year gap (which was this year - 23 years old) and once again wait and see but this time they want me to go next year
