I tell ya man, as an OT in the schools, I'd be lost without the paras. they know these kids best as they're with them all day every day, it drives me crazy that they aren't allowed in IEP meetings

Small schools are almost worse because on top of my classroom duties, I also do all the work in the kitchen (cook breakfast and lunch, then cleanup), sub in SPED room, and do janitorial work.

I made a first grader sit on the wall at lunch recess bc they stole something and I got called down to the principals office, her mom erupted on admin. I told a very disrespectful 6th grader who wouldn’t give me his name or class he wasn’t talk enough to talk to me like that, and his mom also called the principal. I’ve been called in 3 times already for disciplining kids that parents refuse to 🙄
