Damn sorry that happened to you. I’m Filipino and I had so many pleasant experiences with locals and shop owners in several cities in Italy. I tried speaking the language too. Hope the rest of your trip was better than this experience.

I had a good experience in Rome. But outside of there (Venice, Florence) it was so weird. I was with a group of friends, some wearing hijabs, and they took us to some back room of the restaurant away from all the white people I thought it was over for us

I’m asian and I’ve traveled all over Italy for the past 30 years and have never had a bad experience. Even when I was a solo traveler in my 20’s I’ve only encountered kindness. So sorry this was your experience.

Yes girl! Not only Italian but Europe in general. We went to Swiss and sat down for a table of 3. The guy came after us got sat, order, ate and left before we even got our food. We order the same thing as him and it was not busy.
