Unfortunately that’s life for those of us with chronic illnesses. Dealing with doctor’s appointments is like a full time job. It’s even worse with specialists. Use to see a neurologist that the shortest appointment I ever had I was there 3 hours

Im amazed you were able to get it all done in one day. Normally xrays take approval

We need more of this type of honesty. We as patients are often treated like a number almost like we’re at the DMV.

You got to do it all same day and it only took a little over 2 hours. Sir, you found a quick moving system.

2.5 hours is fast! I can be at the doctor's office for over an hour and a half from waiting to seeing the doctor and checking out.

I see my doctors (4 specialists) at a private clinic in China. Never wait more than 5 min. Nursing station has about 8 nurses to help. All doc have MD + PhD trained in China + Japan/US/UK/Germany. It’s less $$$ than USA. It can be done!!! (I practiced subspecialty medicine in USA for 20 years in USA… always ran late due in hospital/clinic management and poor staffing

2 hours to get all that done? Wow you are lucky. My last appt as a girlie with chronic illness…my appt alone is an hour, then the physician is running 30 minutes behind, then lab work, then setting up appointments for 2 follow up tests. I was there almost 4 hours and I haven’t had my follow up tests yet. And yes I’m also a provider so I’m intimately aware of what is also happening behind the scenes. I take a half a day off for one appt. Sometimes a full day cause mentally I’m exhausted. So sorry for my patients who can’t get in cause I’m a patient too

Unfortunately private practice doctors don't pay their staff what they are worth. As your staff we know how much you make, especially us surgery schedulers. So why do doctors do that?

I'm an oncology nurse practitioner in an outpatient setting and our patients wait times. typically take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours just for labs and to be seen. no scans or anything extra. it can be brutal for sure

My appointment 10am. He walked in at 10:35. I started talking fast. He’s like I’m already 35 min behind im not going to be 45 min and tapped his Apple Watch. I got up left and filed a report against.

2.5 hours start to finish is nothing. I usually wait that long just to see the doctor, an hour or more in the waiting room and another hour+ after I'm in a room. Then the visit lasts 5-10 minutes and I wait again to either get my paperwork or in the lab line. It's easily a 4-6 hour process sometimes just to find out nothing. But if I get held up in traffic for 5 minutes I get refused at the door and rescheduled 6 months or more out then charged for the visit anyway.

Get blood drawn before physical. Then doctor has the results & can discuss in person, instead of discussing results on phone.

Okay now do it with bad insurance, and you have to leave the office and get sent for a blood draw to then wait 4 hours for xray, after driving to a third location.

Try waiting 2.5 hrs in office, that’s past your appointment time and when the dr finally comes he/she spends maybe 5 minutes with you. Health care is ridiculous.

I live in the country so I ha e about an hour drive each way to see a doctor. A full appointment like that costs me a day of pay

Wait, you could get blood work and an X-ray the same day as your appointment? That would have been 2 more appointments that I’d have to go on line and schedule.

Those of us who are chronically ill know it well. My Oncologist and Pallative care providers generally run 1-1.5 hrs behind. They are both awesome so I would wait all day. My closest hospital to treat my rare cancer is 3hr drive each way. My neurosurgeon to treat my complex spinal issues is 8 states away. The time is one thing, the cost of being a chronically ill complex patient has a much bigger impact.
