my sister and her husband stopped their wedding reception right after the cake cutting and brought out a small cake for my son who turned 1 that day, sang happy birthday, and had their photographer take pictures of him digging into the cake! VERY SPECIAL SISTER AND HUBBY!!!

I’ve been married for 18 years and have been to like 10 weddings on my anniversary/anniversary weekend. 2 of which, were my husband’s siblings’ weddings. Doesn’t bother me at all 🤷♀️

It’s not about the date it’s about the intention. Sure there are times where that’s just the date that works and it happened innocently, but plenty of times it’s done with the intention to offend, and whether I actually care about the date or not I’m definitely gonna care if someone intentionally wanted to offend me.

It wouldn't bother me, unless I'd already planned a vacation away that weekend. Also, if it was done with bad intent. like to purposely try to cause me to not go on an anniversary trip or something, it would make me upset about the intent. not the date.

I mean I think it’s a bit weird sister two specifically chose the day before, like she chose her wedding date as a way to spite her sister? But it wouldn’t bother me, presumably free food and drinks, sign me up 🫡

I wouldn't be offended or care BUT it would depend on the anniversary on whether I attended or not. A random one like the 3rd, 7th, 12th etc but if it was the 5th, 10th 25th etc then I think I wouldn't be attending because I'd have other plans.

i think the issue is that it's the first anniversary and they are sisters so the sister knows it's the day before. feels like she's trying to one up her sister. if it were a friend and like 3-4 years down the line then I think it would be fine

My brothers bdays are back to back, along with me and my grandpa.. like we make it work for everyone so I grew up with it being normal to adjust. Plus I married my forever... so if we left for our 1st anniversary the day after or following weekend, not a big deal to me 🤷♀️

So I'm no contact with my younger sister. As such I wasn't invited to her wedding so I never put the date down in my mind palace. Years later when my fiance and I reconnected we chose the day we first met to get married as it was pretty significant to the friendship that turned into our relationship. We didn't end up getting married the year we wanted for various reasons. But if we had we would've gotten married on the same day she did. We met the day of her wedding. Now we're trying to find a new date because it wouldn't be worth the drama she'd cause if she found out from extended family. But I'm also so thankful I wasn't at that wedding cause I never would've met my future husband

My son got married on the same day as my nieces anniversary her first anniversary. It wasn’t picked that way that just happened to be one of the dates then you gave him for a better price. My niece was married on Saturday last year and my son got married on a Sunday this yearand I didn’t bother my niece at all
