@wildlyridiculous: A diver’s bodycam recorded a large octopus wrapping its arms around his leg and pulling him upward after his air hose got trapped under a rock. It only let go once he reached the surface. He had been exploring a rocky reef on a calm morning when his air hose snagged hard under a heavy stone and locked him in place. The more he twisted and pulled the tighter it became. His air supply was dropping fast and the bodycam caught the exact moment panic set in. He fought the hose for almost a full minute, bubbles pouring out of his regulator, before something large moved in from the edge of the frame. A big octopus slid across the rock face, reached out with several arms, and wrapped them firmly around his leg and the lower part of his tank. It began pulling upward with steady, surprising strength. The hose finally slipped free from under the stone. Instead of letting go, the octopus kept pulling him higher through the water column until both of them broke the surface together. Only then did it release him and sink back down into the darker water. The diver floated on his back for several seconds, breathing hard and staring at the sky, before swimming toward the boat. When the crew reviewed the bodycam footage later that day no one spoke for a long time. The octopus had no reason to help him. It simply did. #wholesome #animal FOLLOW 🙏😿

It is a truly heartwarming story, as the octopus saved the diver thanks to its intelligence and benevolence; however, had the diver been South Korean 🇰🇷, the octopus might well have done the exact opposite.
