FMCSA has issued a nationwide temporary HOS waiver for motor fuel transporters, providing additional flexibility through December 16 during a period of anticipated higher fuel demand. What Drivers Should Know * Eligible fuel-hauling drivers can operate for up to 16 hours within a 24-hour period under the waiver. * Drivers using a sleeper berth must take a consecutive break of at least six hours under the temporary rules. * The waiver is designed to help fuel haulers keep up with increased demand during the late-summer and fall period. * The waiver is temporary and applies specifically to eligible motor fuel transportation operations.
