The only person in my hometown that we were okay with giving out things besides candy was a retired teacher who took the time to wrap a spider ring around a pencil for everyone. She also was the only house that handed out full sized candy bars 🤷♀️

I was tricker treating with my best friend and her younger cousins one year and I kid you not there was a lady who pulled us all aside and was telling us how celebrating Halloween is bad and things like that she did it for a good 5 minutes before her aunt came and took us away 😭

As a Christian, I hate people like this. I grew up in a Christian/Greek Orthodox home and we all LOVE Halloween. I would never force my faith on anyone, especially not children.

I grew up going to church , I am no longer Christian. The church I grew up in had their own party , you could come dressed up but if you dressed as anyone other than a Bible character you could not go in the party with the potluck and candy . They would give candy to the kids they just couldn't go in .

i grew up christian. not one anymore since i moved out. i had a good church, good priest. grew up episcopalian (whatever that means) we had halloween, would go to hospitals and the elderly for trick or treating. had a lesbian priest. i grew up in a good church. churches and Christians using god to spread fear or "word of god" at inappropriate times is not the way of god.
