The reimagining overhauls the entire game and features almost exclusively new content, with few returning elements, as well as a redone visual style based on the style first seen in My Talking Tom, a virtual pet app released by Outfit7 in late 2013. The search for the original model gained significant attention on January 8, 2025, when YouTuber The 1st Gamer launched the search to uncover the original model related to the Talking Tom Cat app. The search caught the eye of animator Addy Gamer, who had previously purchased the original Talking Tom Cat model and is in possession of the original model. On May 19, 2025, Addy Gamer uploaded a video saying he had the model, but according to The 1st Gamer, he was gatekeeping the model for $250. Addy Gamer later made a response video saying that Outfit7 sent him an email saying that he couldn't upload the model due to copyright, but a lot of people (including the The 1st Gamer) debunked this and said that the email address shown in the video wasn't an actual Outfit7 email. On August 28, 2025, animator Erik Beyer, who had the rigged model from 2008 to 2013, released the complete, fully rigged model with morph targets. Erik Beyer was an animator who worked for Wizard Animation Studios, for which the model was used for one of their animations, titled "Wizard Animation Studios - The Cat".
