this is why I stopped dressing Japanese fashion :( Idk it always felt like I'm overdressed one and I ALWAYS seem like the weird one out. Cuz atleast your dark alt, I'm pastel alt. I'm genuinely like out different from everyone, and so I stopped dressing like that, and now trying to dress more basic....hopefully in the future, like college, I'll able to wear what I want and won't care :*(

Peopel at school make fun of me for speaking English and been called Israeli third times and also been called Christian and Sunni (not a bad thing just that I’ve told them multiple times that I’m Muslim) and also because I’m not that good at reading and writing Arabic and I don’t pray or read the Quran and I’m not liking the staring culture there, and my fam don’t like the idea of me not wearing skirts or dresses (because they make me feel uncomfortable)

im considered probably a goody-two-shoes in lebanon atm, but im only like this because people dont actually wanna see a "weird alt person". i wanna dress alternative, i wanna be independant so badly. but from the racism, misogyny, sexism, and homophobic actions from EVERYONE, im genuinely just not risking anything in risk of not being outcasted. i hate the judgement in this country, the exclusion, the economy, the people, the wars, and everything about it. but i still care about my country and just hope one day that it changes for the better

It’s cause everyone is traumatised. Also, the sectarian divide goes deep, which is why outside of Beirut it is harder to connect. People gather based on tradition, religion, politics, so it’s easy to see why a lot of us felt like we didn’t belong. But it is important to remember that its not even the people’s fault. The system dividing us and making everyone hate each other was designed to do specifically that. I have come to see the beauty in this country and it’s people even in the misery

I’m half lebanese and people would always treat me like I’m someone who’s not from this country, and it sucks because I try my best to live my life here only to be treated like that because I don’t speak Arabic well 🫤 can’t wait to move out of this country

honestly it's more of a gamble with the people you meet. But from my prior experience with other people, you can find someone that also aligns with your view on things as well as not be a total brat about the whole situation. it really is just a matter of time before you meet a proper Lebanese person
