@pressdemo: Lightning sparked the 4,100-acre Lucas Fire that has destroyed three structures near Bachelor Valley since it began burning nearly a week ago, Cal Fire announced Wednesday, Sept. 16. Crews reached 46% containment on the fire at the border of Mendocino and Lake counties Wednesday morning as cooler temperatures and higher relative humidity settled in to give firefighters more favorable conditions in their efforts to extinguish the burn.
