@tanaamen: There were years when I was just trying to get through what was in front of me. In my 20’s I was surviving cancer, depression, bankruptcy. In my 30’s I was raising my daughter, rebuilding after divorce, working nights, and doing the healing I had avoided for a long time. I did not have some perfect vision for how it would all come together. I just kept making the next brave decision I could make, one step at a time. That eventually led me to a marriage I am deeply grateful for, a mission of turning pain a purpose, books I never imagined writing, stages I never imagined standing on, and a life that feels more like me than anything I could have planned. At 57, I know this much: your life can change in ways you cannot see yet.
