The snake was eventually brought back to shore, where it reportedly measured 31 feet, 8 inches long and weighed an astonishing 1,486 pounds. The catch has also renewed attention around reports of a wild anaconda population living in some of the lake’s more isolated coves. What happened after the women got the enormous snake back to the marina was almost as unusual as the catch itself.
