weigh a bowl of the ingredient, have her pull from the bowl, whatever is left over afterwards subtract from the original amount and that's the amount you wanna use

My Ma's marinara sauce says, "Good amount of oil, throw lotta in garlic and stir it a little. Then get distracted and brown it on accident" And it legit makes a huge difference in the sauce.

I got tired of my daughter asking for exact measurements for ingredients so I hunted down a measuring spoon set & measuring cup that literally had it on there…a dash, a pinch, etc. the cups top line said “the ancestors have spoken” 🤣

One thing I learned growing up, the best cooking doesn't need measurements. You just add till it feels/smells/looks right. And when in doubt.... "little more" 🥰
