Office lingo is just code switching. I don’t use the same vocabulary with my mother that I use with my friends. Yeah some of the corporate jargon is dumb, but just the fact that there IS corporate jargon isn’t inherently dumb.

For me, it’s the extreme punishments that come with calling out sick, even if you have to go to the ER. I’m an adult, I lost out on money from both missing work and having to pay for medical attention, I have already been punished.
