I am genuinely surprised that the company let this go on as long as it did. I know that if I acted the way ashley did, they’d have my replacement at the door waiting for my desk to get cleared 😭

As a financial accountant I have 2 points on this: 1. Separation of duties is absolutely necessary within any accounting department. 2. I live by the “hit by a bus” policy. If something happens to you, how would you feel knowing you left a mess behind you? There should ALWAYS be someone trained as a backup for those roles. Nothing in life is permanent.

Someone early in my career taught me if I can’t be replaced I can’t be promoted. I’ve always documented my processes, my notes and tips. It isn’t always pretty but I start a OneNote with every job and it’s there if I win the lottery or whatever.

She WILLINGLY gave up time with her kids while they were growing up because she hoarded responsibilities thinking it would shoot her to the top but it weighed her down and I imagine made her very unappealing as a potential CFO or whatever because she was half-assing all her hoarded responsibilities... like she wasn't even doing them 100% AND costing the company unnecessary tens of thousands of dollars.... She's so oblivious and self-centered
