Damn. In Mexico we leave things out cause we want people to take it, we don't have a use for it but if it's in a good enough condition whoever likes it can have it. We keep the trash inside till the truck comes for it.

in Australia if it's outside of ur house it's practically already someone else's, I've had people take my entire load of hard rubbish even when half of it was just old extremely broken tech

similar rule in Canada, however there are exceptions, like "free weekends", or putting a "free" sign on it so people know it's okay to take it. it's also acceptable to simply knock on the door and ask if you can have it.
