as a former aupair: stay close the first weeks she arrives. it’s pretty lonely, exciting, but lonely the first weeks. encourage her to go out with fellow aupairs in the area! that’s how she’ll make friends. you seem like an incredible HM ❤️❤️

Ideas: You should put a little fridge in her room so she can keep her snacks in there. Oh, and she didn’t have a hairdryer. I know the wand hairdries, but I prefer just a straight up hair dryer.

I was an au pair with culture care au pair. Please understand that she is still human and makes mistakes and needs time to adjust and learn 🙏 communication is key! My family refused to communicate and ended up traumatizing me for life.

I loved debriefing with my host mom when she got off work.. not only talking about the kids but also about my day and her day, we were never super close like “friends” but we were really close and it made me feel appreciated that she listened to me!
