this was sadly a problem 20 years ago before I was aware of being gay, teens doing this are doing it because they were raised in a household that stigmatized it and want gain approval of others. its deeply cruel and I feel for those kids, being lgbt is hard enough as teen but getting belittled and laughed adds to it.

first off I want to applaud you for rising above all the hate and discrimination! second unfortunately this has been apart of our culture since we arrived from Europe. in the last 15 to 20 years we started to realize that the system was what continued to feed that hate and discrimination and once we realized that most of the country started to ban together and started seeing past color, gender, political party, and so on. as the years went on the system started to realize it was becoming hard and hard to divide us and so the system had to do something because it realized we are stronger in numbers then we are alone. The system had to change how it was trying to divide us, who it used to divide us. In late 2016 we as a country allowed the system to start wining again and we have never been the same since.... If you know you know. Again my hats off to you for not allowing the system to infect your mind and how you view people and how you view the world. We all could learn something from you! keep shining in all the darkness one day your light will be seen!

Thank you! I grew up in the days of the Civil Rights movement. I saw hate then but I hoped we had moved beyond that. Now I see even more hate. You give me hope for the future.

When I was in high school long long ago I had a friend who was gay and asked if I would do a silent protest with him where you basically don’t talk all day and when someone asks you why you’re not talking you show them this paper that explains what the silent protest is and what it means to you … When I tell you as a 14 year old kid who’s mind was blown at how many teachers and students bullied us for doing a silent protest for the LGBTQ+ community .. I just couldn’t believe it .. so I get to 1st period and that teacher sent everyone who didn’t say “ here “ when she called roll call she sent us to in school suspension

Exactly! Well said! Whoever is against us or this country will try to cause division among us to make us fall or to divert attention from the real evil. United we’re stand, divided we fall. Also, as a Christian who seeks God’s heart, He wants us to be his light of love to others — not hatred. God’s very essence is Love. Jesus paved the way for nothing to keep us away from His love!
