Fun fact in some states you can get them for free!! Maryland offers them through the Maryland Assistive Technology Program (MDTAP) Reuse Center or Maryland Accessible Telecommunications (MAT) Program!

It doesn’t have all of these same features but you can setup any iPhone in a special mode called “Assistive Access” that has some similar features as this which might be good enough at the earlier stages.

thats an amazing device! I recently changed nursing jobs and have worked a few shifts in a ward thst holds a good number of people with dementia and this product isnt exactly for people with dementia but i thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread when I saw someone using it last week!! it's a shampoo cap that has all the product already inside it and you put it over someone's hair, massage it a little and leave it on for a few minutes then remove and you dont even have to rinse! I fewl like it would be life changing for people with disabilities or struggling with mental health etc

I took care of my grandma with dementia, it’s wild. Forgetting to hold the phone up to your ear is so interesting bc that’s been a thing since phones were invented.

This is the second video that you have made that I’ve sent to my mom this week for my aunt and honestly I wish I found your videos when my nano was still here. Thank you so much for sharing. All of these. This is amazing and I never would’ve known about it.

You can do quite a few of these settings on IPhone. Not all but for people not wanting to buy a new thing, an old used iPhone has these options too

I so wish I could've seen this just a few years ago when my mother in law was alive. We found out too late she was suffering from dementia, but one of the things she would do, especially in an episode, would call repeatedly.

Wait a minute. you're telling me that the 75-year-old who calls me 14 times within 32 minutes because my phone was on mute might have dementia

Honestly, $500 for a phone isn’t all that expensive considering what regular phones are going for nowadays. This seems absolutely worth it to me.

AT person here! You can also make your iPhone do this without even needing a special phone. If you go to settings >accessibility> assistive access. It's not as robust as this option but cost effective for those that may not be able to afford a different phone

why don't they have this for the kids? I have my 13-year-old on a flip phone but I would much rather them have just a phone and text message device

If you don’t have the funds to buy a new phone for your loved one, in the iPhone accessibility settings you can change it so it only shows apps for calling and texting and the clock and calendar and no other apps show or work whilst it’s in these settings and the icons for each app are huge and easy to read and recognise. You can also set a password so they can’t change the settings themselves, we done this for my Nonnos phone and it’s been working really well for us and he doesn’t get confused or frustrated trying to use his phone anymore.
