I just need to know when teaching literacy became the parents job… isn’t that the point of teachers literally getting an entire bachelors degree so people who don’t have one can actually teach those around them the proper skills???????? I’m doing so much for my daughter right now, but as a child my family NEVER did any of this and I went to school and got taught and learned from those around me. We’re struggling because I’m not a licensed early education teacher.

I know that now it’s our responsibility, but growing up Only school taught me how to read because my parents didn’t know how to read (Spanish speakers) No one read books to me at night. And now I’m having to sit with my kid every night for 30 minutes to practice Reading which is fine but like why is there a difference now. What has changed.

These cards are excellent!! We review them at night before bed and then on the ride to school in the morning before drop off. We are now adding a letter in front/behind to make words come together.. Fantastic tool! 🎉👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Yes and he’s an excellent reader we’re struggling with spelling 😂😭 all the rules get mushed up when he’s spelling a word 😭

i stopped because, my kid doesn't understand, that his teachers aren't wrong, and I'm not wrong. we teach differently, when it comes to reading.

Have any advice for those who have kids that were taught letter names before sounds , and when u try to teach letter sounds to the child they say the names?

Can you go over when the word instrument and significant. Why u makes a short sound and i makes a short sound in significant but there is a vowel in the next two letters. (What I learned in all about reading account when decoding words) I know the middle makes a sound short because it’s in the middle but what about the other i.
