@neurofacts.101: our brain are so resilient in so many ways we can’t comprehend.. 😰🧠 || Have you ever experienced a terrifying moment that seemed to happen in slow motion? During life-threatening situations, people often report that time felt unusually slow. However, your brain probably isn’t actually slowing down your perception of time. Instead, something more interesting may be happening: your brain is becoming highly alert and recording more information than usual. When you’re in danger, your body releases stress hormones such as adrenaline. This puts your brain into a heightened state of attention, allowing you to focus intensely on what is happening around you. You may notice details that you would normally overlook, creating a much denser memory of the event. When you remember the experience later, that unusually detailed memory can make the event seem as though it lasted much longer than it actually did. In other words, the feeling of “time slowing down” may be less about your brain changing the speed of time itself and more about how much information your brain processes and remembers. #neurology #psychology #creepycore #medicine #foryoupage
