@thecaseroom.daily: On October 28, 2022, Paul Pelosi quietly called 911 from his San Francisco home while an intruder, David DePape, was inside demanding to see his wife, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Paul stayed calm enough to signal that something was wrong, even though he could not openly ask for help. When officers arrived, body-camera footage showed Paul and DePape holding onto the same hammer at the doorway. Police told DePape to drop it, he refused, pulled it away, and struck Paul in the head before officers rushed in and arrested him. Paul survived a skull fracture and serious injuries after emergency surgery. DePape was convicted federally of attempted kidnapping of Nancy Pelosi and assault of a family member of a federal official, and received a 30-year federal prison sentence. The released 911 audio, surveillance video, and body-cam footage helped shut down the false rumors that spread after the attack. #attack #truecrime #bodycam #911call #guilty
