At punching range, the fighter on the left is slightly too far to land clean. Many fighters would force the distance, step forward recklessly, and perhaps throw longer combinations. He doesn’t. He uses a Superman punch to close rapidly the distance in an unexpected tempo. 👉 This is the first layer. Biomechanically, the Superman punch is brilliant here. Even though it lands mostly on the guard, it still hits hard enough to create an impression. And here comes another crucial detail: He immediately retreats: without admiration of his own work. No standing in front of danger. He closes distance… and exits before the counter comes. Now the opponent has a memory. And in a way, memories fight. The opponent(unconsciously) registered: Fast entry = Superman punch. The nervous system stores patterns quickly. This is where combat stops being just mechanics and becomes psychology as well. 👉This is the second layer: The second time, the fighter gives the opponent the same picture. Same initiation. Same burst. Same feeling. The opponent reads it: “Superman punch is coming.” He prepares his guard and gets absorbed in the incoming strike. And right there, reality changes, and hits hard. Instead of completing the Superman punch line… He transitions mid strike to a Lead Hook. In a nutshell, this strategy was: 1️⃣ Program expectation. 2️⃣ Break expectation. 3️⃣ Enter through the opening. Tactically, this is beautiful because it combines: -Distance management (using Superman to close range) -Safe exits (immediate retreat after entry) -Pattern programming (teaching expectation) -Rhythm deception (showing one attack, delivering another) The first exchange built the trap, and the second exchange closed it. That’s why, dear friends, the beauty of striking is not always in throwing more, but in making the opponent believe they already know what comes next. Because once they believe… you are no longer fighting their body, you are fighting their prediction, and prediction can be manipulated. That is why combat is art. 🔥👊 📌 Save to study 👊 Follow for more breakdowns . . . #kickboxing #muaythai #karate #martiala
