I went there 9 years ago and had the worst experience from teachers gossiping with students about me while I was going through a hard time to them somehow miss placing my last tuition payment and threatening to not allow me to get my license until I paid it.

Tbh go to the cheapest school you can find! In the end they all teach you the same thing, you won’t learn the good nitty gritty until you’re out in the salon !! Save yourself some coin

I went there 18 yrs ago when it was Kohler, my daughter went there 5 yrs ago as Penrose. I will forever say go to the cheapest, pass your boards, assist for someone for a year then go on your own. Everyone has to take the same boards and you learn more after you graduate.

I went there 12 years ago and it was honestly the BEST experience. My salon is filled with Penrose graduates. It’s honestly the best school in the valley. 10/10 recommend

i just graduated last week from penrose, and while i feel like it is a better option than most schools, it still SUCKS!!! they messed up my tuition big time and left me with $4000 unpaid the week i was graduating!! the teachers are extremely cliquey!!

Idk if this matters but I got my hair done by a girl there and the instructors messed it up horribly literally wanted brown hair and left with red hair and had to go get it redone professionally a week later

Imma say this & idc if they see this. It’s not worth spending thousands here. They need to get their policies under control. They need to also further educate their instructors so students are getting what they’re paying for. It’s a chop shop school. They push you forward once you start to continuously start another batch of students. Be prepared to only get a few days - one weeks worth of learning something new before moving onto something else.

Stay away from name brand schools, and the only thing you should be looking at is their board passing rates, and if they offer multiple baby boards until your test date. Also, PLEASE learn to use the Marcel iron.

I absolutely loved it! One of my favorite decisions to this day I met so many amazing girls and they do several career nights as well as are constantly posting job listings! They bring plenty of salons into the school to meet you and work with you! They also have so many assemblies where they bring in amazing guest speakers! I feel like they're curriculum is a lot more new aged and they have many super talented instructors who want to be there to support you and help you! I loved my experience! I interviewed at several salons, who said that they specifically look for girls who have graduated from there because they produce amazing work!
