This is without a doubt THE most fun EV vehicle I have ever driven. @discoverlexus put quite a bit of effort into doing a complete engine swap. They replaced the 1.6 liter 4AG with the Toyota Tundra Hybrid assist motor, which looks like a bell housing (it's at the end of the video). It's the unit that goes in between the transmission and the twin turbo 3.5 liter V6 on the current generation Tundra. Everything else is left alone on the AE86! Which means clutch dumps, drifting, rev matching, heel toe, everything you can do with a normal AE86 you can do with this. The motor is mated to GR86 six speed transmission. In fact it's so convincing, I bet you if I picked up any regular car enthusiast, they wouldn't be able to tell right away. The sound was also interesting as it had different tones depending on how much throttle input was given depending on the rpm range, which gave it that throaty 4AG sound. Funny thing to me is that they spent all this effort to replicate something that was already perfect. It drives pretty much exactly like a modified Toyota Corolla AE86!
