I had an ex break into my house steal my phone try to assault me and tear up my house and I called 911 begging for my life and they let him go while he was on the run from probation and a Lieutenant spoke with the da to make sure I couldn’t press charges so I feel ur pain our system is screwed in so many ways

I learned a long time ago, the Police are like HR. They are not there to protect you. They’re there to protect the city from mass chaos, destruction and lawsuits. That’s it. We have to learn to protect ourselves. They don’t help until someone is hurt.

BEEN THERE. You need to put your case together yourself and literally hand it to the prosecutor to screen for charges. Find the specific state laws this violates (like possession of a deadly weapon with intent to harm), find similar cases, established case law and break it down baby style. I had to do this and it took almost a year to even get contact with the prosecutor. You have to go through your local police but make sure to speak to a detective and not just an officer. But then my ex was charged with 2 felonies.
