I noticed I decreased my fairy knots by ensuring I add a little extra product on my ends before I add grease and I make sure I smooth my ends into one direction with the grease. Like I’ll apply my leave in and foam and grease and then as I’m braiding or twisting, right before I finish I just add an extra dab of foam and grease like a smidge as I smooth it into one direction to make sure it’s lubricated and my ends are going in one direction

My hair doesn’t have a lot of fairy knots if I just consistently do regular two strand twist/twist outs without over separating the hair (which helps control the hair strands). I haven’t done mini twist/mini braids in months because my scalp has been acting up, but I’ve had the least amount of fairy knots so I’m thinking it’s for the best lol

I’ve noticed that wearing my hair in open styles gives me a lot of fairy knots especially when I wear it in a shrunken Afro . But in confined styles I almost have zero knots
