no one believes me when I advertised a 2yr old car with only 264km on it, 5yr old car with 1893km, another 5yr old car with 663km. (Deceased estate from elderly couple) Because of dodgy sales out there, it’s made it hard for the genuine ones.

We bought a Jetta back in 2001, and found out that the kilometres had been rolled back approximately 100k. Came to find out that it was a very common practice in Quebec where they would roll the kms back, send it to an auction and then some unsuspecting dealer would buy and sell.

This is why I love the New Zealand system of WoFs. Not only do you ensure your car is safe but it creates a record of the odometer that can’t be tampered with without it being obvious.
