@gbnews: Princess Diana's brother has been criticised for comments made in his new tell-all memoir. In Earl Charles Spencer's new book about his sister, Swan Song, he claims King Charles said "we'll forget Diana soon enough" just days after her death. In his new book the Earl writes: "Then he unleashed down the phone what I have always taken to be his pent-up contempt for Diana, and his horror that the world was so bowled over by her death. 'Rest assured,' he hissed, 'we'll forget her soon enough!'" In response, a Buckingham Palace spokesman told GB News: "While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss." Speaking to Bev Turner on The Late Show Live, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield called the comments "deeply unfair." #PrincessDiana #KingCharles #RoyalFamily #GBNews

Don’t believe King Charles said it🤷🏼♀️it just doesn’t make sense or either that it was said in a different context. End of the day Earl Spencer’s got his bag of silver💰💰😉😉

It said that they were arguing when it was said, lots of people say things they don’t mean in the heat of an argument. So if this is all that’s in the book I don’t think it’s that bad.

Just because someone writes it in a book doesn’t make it true. The earl has always been attention seeking.

I don't believe Charles said that. He and Diana may have been bitter towards each other for a long time but they were friends at the time of her death. Charles loved his children and she was their mother. Diana and Earl Spencer had also fallen out, he had refused her refuge at Althorp. I'm not sure the Earl would have known Diana's wishes either.

The King (then Prince) was outwardly jealous of Diana & the regard people held her in. I wouldn’t be the least bit shocked if he said it - or if he meant it.
