Il y a les nous: on t’aime mais on te laisse vivre ta vie. On t’accepte comme tu es en supposant que tu es assez adulte pour prendre de bonne décision 😹😹😹

Why am I so quiet? Why did I become this person who can sit for hours without saying much, who watches everything around him while keeping almost everything inside? Why, every time I open the camera on my phone, do I look at my own face and find no real smile there? There is no excitement in my eyes, no obvious sign of happiness, just a calm expression that sometimes feels heavier than sadness itself. I look at myself and wonder when I became so used to hiding what I feel. Maybe this is what happens when you have been hurt too many times. Maybe after going through things that changed you, you stop reacting to everything the way you used to. You learn to stay silent because explaining yourself becomes exhausting. You learn to smile less because you no longer feel the need to prove that you are okay. You learn to keep your emotions somewhere deep inside, not because you have nothing to say, but because you have said too much before and discovered that not everyone knows how to listen. But life has a strange way of changing people. Sometimes it does not break you loudly. Sometimes it simply takes little pieces of you, one disappointment at a time, until one day you look in the mirror and realize that you have become quieter than you ever imagined. And maybe that is why my silence feels so loud. It is not an empty silence. It is filled with thoughts I never say, memories I rarely mention, questions I keep asking myself, and feelings I have learned to carry alone. From the outside, I may look peaceful. I may seem like someone who does not care about anything. But inside, there can be an entire world moving at a speed nobody sees. Even my phone camera has become a strange reminder of this change. I open it sometimes, look at my face, and try to force a smile just to see how it looks. But it feels different now. The smile does not reach the same place it used to. My eyes expose what my words try to hide. The hardest part is that I have started to get used to it. I got used to being quiet. I got used to staying away from unnecessary noise. I got used to observing instead of speaking, thinking instead of explaining, and keeping certain feelings for myself. And recently, my mother started noticing it too. She began to notice this unusual calmness in me, this silence that is somehow louder than words. A mother can sometimes see changes that nobody else notices. She may not know every thought inside my head, but she can feel when her child is not the same as before. I do not know if I can explain it to her properly. How do I explain that I am not necessarily unhappy, but I am not the same person either? How do I explain that some pain does not disappear completely; it simply becomes quieter with time? Maybe I am just tired of pretending that everything is fine. Maybe this calmness is my mind asking for peace after spending too long fighting battles nobody could see. So if you ever wonder why I am so quiet, maybe there is no simple answer. Maybe I am carrying years of thoughts behind a calm face. Maybe the smile disappeared little by little, not because I hate happiness, but because life taught me to be careful with it. I am still here, still moving forward, still trying to understand myself. And maybe one day, when I finally feel safe enough to let everything out, the smile will come back naturally. Until then, this is me: quiet, distant sometimes, thoughtful most of the time, carrying a loud silence inside me and hoping that one day, someone will understand that silence can also be a story. #ifeelyou #fyp #feeling #quiet #story
